Summer 2023 Parking Permit Deadlines

Summer 2023 parking permits will expire on Friday, Aug. 4, for all commuters, residents, student aides, and graduate assistants. If you need to park on campus past the expiration date of your permit, you will need to purchase a Fall 2023 parking permit.

Fall 2023 Parking Permit Information for Students

Student parking permits for the Fall 2023 semester will go on sale at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, for commuter students, residential students, student aides, and graduate assistants. These permits will be active from Aug. 5, through Dec. 31, with the exception of the Girard Park Circle Parking Garage permit which will be active from Aug. 21, through Dec. 31.

Permit Pricing

Fall 2023 permit pricing will be as follows.

  • Residential student parking permits are for students living on campus. Permits are sold according to the housing facility of the residential student. Fall 2023 semester residential parking permits are $40. Residential parking permits are restricted to one vehicle at a time. Residential students may have a residential permit and a commuter Cajun Field permit simultaneously. Cajun Village families needing to purchase a second permit for a second driver in the family will now pay $20 for the additional permit each semester.
  • Commuter students:
    • Cajun Field commuter permit is free, but you must obtain the Fall 2023 permit to park at Cajun Field. Permits are obtained through the parking portal. Commuter Cajun Field permits allow parking only at Cajun Field and during the day; they do not serve as night permits. Commuter students may have a commuter permit and a night permit simultaneously.
    • Girard Parking Tower permits guarantee parking on the fourth through sixth floors of the garage on all class days. Girard Parking Tower permits are $325 per semester and are available on a limited basis. It is not a night permit and does not allow for parking elsewhere on campus.
    • Wisdom Lot/Zone 15 permits are $300 and are available on a limited basis for parking on the paved side of the Zone 15/E.K. Long lot only.
    • Wilson Street Lot permits are $250 and are available on a very limited basis for parking in the lot located at 712 Wilson Street, one block south of campus.
    • NEW Health Sciences garage and lot permits -The University recently acquired the Lourdes property and is able to offer additional parking to students with shuttle service for $80 per semester. Permit locations include Zone 611HSC, a parking garage located at 611 St. Landry St., and Zone 614HSC, a parking lot located at 147 Patrick St.
      • A dedicated shuttle will run between bus stops at 611 St. Landry St. and Rex Street. The shuttle will operate from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday. An On-Call Shuttle Service will be available from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 3-8 pm on Friday.
  • Graduate Assistant permits - A new zone is being added to provide more parking for graduate assistants. Starting Fall 2023, a portion of Zone 17 at the corner of S. Campus Drive and UPA Drive, will now be permit parking for graduate assistants. There will still be a limited number of GA permits available in the Perimeter (PER) area. Graduate Assistant permits are $40 for either location for the semester.
  • Student Aide permits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office for $40.
