Parking Zones 2 and 42 to close for Mardi Gras

Parking Zones 2 and 42 (the former Continuing Education Building) will be closed from 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, through Tuesday, March 1, for Mardi Gras events. All vehicles must be moved out of these zones no later than 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.

Cajun Field to close for Le Festival de Mardi Gras a’ Lafayette

The Cajun Field parking areas located on the Bertrand Drive side of the stadium and on the north side of the stadium between the scoreboard and West Congress Street will not be available for commuter parking on Thursday, Feb. 24, and Friday, Feb. 25, due to Le Festival de Mardi Gras a’ Lafayette. Parking at Cajun Field will be available on the east side of the stadium only using the West Congress Street and Cajundome Boulevard entrances.

Additional parking for Thursday and Friday will be available at Blackham Coliseum. Blackham Coliseum is located on the northeast corner of Johnston Street and Cajundome Boulevard with parking on the west side of the coliseum. Commuter parking will also be allowed for free in Girard Park Parking Tower on the first through third floors for these two days only. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis for the first three floors only.

All cars parked at Cajun Field will have to be removed before 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, due to the festival. Any vehicle remaining at Cajun Field at 5 p.m. will be towed. Regular parking resumes at Cajun Field on Wednesday, March 2.

Bus service will be available at both Cajun Field and Blackham Coliseum. The Cajun Field bus stop will operate as usual. The bus pickup at Blackham will be on the Johnston Street side of the lot. Signs indicating the pickup location will be posted at Blackham.

Students are advised to plan for delays by arriving early to allow additional time to find a parking space and getting to the bus pick-up location.

 

Bus Service changes announced for Mardi Gras

Bus service will suspend operations at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, for the Mardi Gras break. On-demand shuttle service will be available between Cajun Field, Bourgeois Hall, and campus between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, by calling the bus yard at (337) 482-5305. Full bus service will resume at 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 3.
